Support Rangi

The future is female, and as we enter a new era of philanthropy in New Zealand women’s schools, we want Rangi to be at the forefront, leading the way.

In 1889 the Gibson sisters established Rangi Ruru with the vision to provide the very best education for girls. The School is constantly striving to build on that vision, providing scholarship opportunities, delivering personalised learning programmes and providing the quality of buildings and facilities that match and support the exceptional education the girls receive.

With the majority of the school’s tuition fees directed towards staff and operational costs Rangi Ruru relies on the support of its community to help prepare for future generations and to ensure the Gibson Sisters’ vision continues to soar.

Please give generously today.

You Belong: ANNUAL GIVING 2019

Every year we ask our Rangi family, past and present, to give to our annual giving campaign. The success of annual giving and the strength of the school will always depend on our Rangi community’s wonderful spirit of giving.

There are many reasons to continue to support Rangi; whether it is to ensure Rangi continues to have leading facilities, offer enhanced learning opportunities or to help secure Rangi’s future for generations to come. Whatever your motivation to give, we are grateful for your support which helps us seize opportunities for Rangi’s continued advancement.

This year we ask for your support in the following areas:

  • Scholarships: We all know of girls who would flourish in the Rangi environment. Support for scholarships will ensure others get to experience the benefits of a Rangi education and the richness of belonging to a community like Rangi.
  • Principal’s Koha Fund: This fund allows the Principal to support current families during times of hardship or unexpected crises. It takes a lot of courage for parents to ask for help and being able to support them, and their daughter, makes a real difference.
  • Special Project – Outdoor Shade Sails and Seating: Rangi is wishing to provide additional protection for our girls from harmful UV rays by establishing further sunshade solutions around the campus. Around $5,000.00 would allow the school to purchase and build one shade sail structure.

The Rangi Ruru Foundation was established in 1995 with the aim of providing long-term financial independence for the school and supporting school projects and activities that cannot be met from school fees.

The Rangi Ruru Foundation holds a pivotal role within the school ensuring all donations to the school are diligently managed, invested, and then distributed as intended.

Our Foundation is made up of a group of outstanding individuals who have been appointed by the Board. Each Foundation trustee brings a wealth of expertise from varying sectors and professions and we are grateful for their prudent investment and management of school funds.

Leaving a Gift in Your Will

Leaving a gift in your Will is a powerful and lasting was to help us provide an education that supports the academic, sports, cultural and creative endeavours of all Rangi girls. It is a way to continue to support the school after you are gone or to suport the school as you have always wanted to but have perhaps been unable to in your life time.

Rangi Ruru recognises that many people have already thought of and are intending on leaving a gift to the school. We celebrate this generosity through a special group known as the Gibson Circle. We are incredible grateful to all who recognise this and pledge their support in this manner.
