Enrolment Process for International Students
If you are interested in enrolling your daughter at Rangi Ruru, complete and return your Application for Enrolment form with relevant information and application fee to the school as early as possible. Also refer to the International Student Family Handbook for accompanying documentation requirements.
We like to interview all applicants whenever possible, and believe it is important for students and parents to visit the school, meet staff and view our facilities. Please advise when you may be visiting Christchurch so that we can arrange a meeting and tour of the school. We do, however, realise that it is not always possible for you to visit and are happy to arrange a skype or telephone interview instead.
If you have any questions about international enrolment contact Louise Stanton, Dean of International Students on +64 3 983 3722 or firstname.lastname@example.org
English Language Assessment
Students who do not have English as their first language will usually be required to sit an English assessment test before they can begin classes at Rangi Ruru. All international students at Rangi are placed in mainstream classes and they must be able to understand lessons, join in classroom activities and complete homework tasks.
Sometimes it may be necessary for students to attend intensive high school English preparation classes at a local language school before attending high school. The Dean of International Students at Rangi Ruru stays in regular contact with the language school during this time and closely monitors students’ progress.
