AmyLee

Amy Ga Hee Lee is considered one of New Zealand’s finest young pianists. “Be confident, don’t feel “I don’t think I can do this”. When I applied for the Year 7 academic scholarship I wasn’t really sure either but it changed my life completely. It made me more confident and I applied for other scholarships which I otherwise might not have. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the confidence, opportunity and support, I gained at Rangi Ruru,” she says.

KristyHavill

Kristy Havill will represent New Zealand as part of the New Zealand’s Womens’ Team at the Clay Rifle Shooting World Championships in Ireland in July this year. “Going to Rangi Ruru, being able to look beyond the Coast also enabled me to compete against other city schools in my sport of shooting,” she says. “Of course being an Independent School means fees and because of that I think some people dismiss boarding school outright. But I’d encourage anyone living in a rural area or outside the main cities, to at least look at what is available at Rangi Ruru, scholarship-wise,” says Kristy.
