‘Leaders Who Listen’ Interview

Dr Sandra Hastie, is known to be a collaborative leader amongst New Zealand educators. She has spent 24 of her 29 years in education in senior leadership roles and talks here with ‘Leaders who Listen’ about the importance of education in creating the foundation for New Zealand’s future leaders.

Dr Hastie has strong connections to Rangi Ruru which added to the significance of deciding to take on the role of Principal in January 2016. “My grandmother, Janet Doris Rollo, was a boarder in 1917, my cousins (Deborah Gilmore and Susie Janie) were also boarders and my mother-in-law, Beverley Hastie (née Sail), and her sister and family members also attended school here. It does feel like I am returning to the family “roots” and to become part of a school that over the years has always been held in such high regard by our families” she says.

If you are interested in enrolling at Rangi Ruru and would like to meet Dr Sandra Hastie please book an appointment with Pauline Clegg on or call 03 983 3717.
