Rangi Ruru Staff

art2009At Rangi Ruru, we are very proud of the calibre of our staff. Rangi Ruru employs more than 80 full-time and part-time staff,  including teachers, administration, grounds and maintenance, catering and Boarding staff.

Many Rangi staff have an involvement in student learning and development, both curricular and co-curricular. However and wherever Rangi staff primarily interact with students, be it the classroom, library, gymnasium, sports office, boarding house, school grounds or school office; every one of these people plays an important role in the teaching and learning of Rangi students.

We recognise that in order to provide an exceptional education for our students, we need extraordinary teachers. 'Teaching' happens in many contexts and environments. Our 'teaching staff' include a wide range of curricular, co-curricular and support staff who work closely teaching and mentoring our students.

We have made a commitment to attracting and retaining inspiring teachers and to providing professional learning opportunities that enable staff to be leaders in their field and to keep growing.

It is very important to us that Rangi staff are passionate about what and how they teach and that Rangi girls are known and feel cared for by those who are teaching them.

culturalconcert2009All teaching staff are involved in Clans and co-curricular activities outside the classroom, enabling girls and staff to know each other across a range of different contexts.

Our education philosophy is broad. We are preparing our students for a world where they will need not only the knowledge and skills that can be measured by academic successes, but also a strong set of less tangible skills, attitudes, dispositions and values; including resilience, confidence, leadership, a measure of scepticism; to enable them to fulfil their promise and become exceptional citizens.

Our aim is to encourage girls to develop their abilities in the things they find easy, and to be confident and persistent about learning, and even mastering those things they find more challenging.
