What we as a community expect from our girls

Rangi Ruru Core Values and Code of Behaviourboarderspicnic2008
As a community of 140 persons who live and work together, we need to agree and live by, a set of community standards and values.

The Boarding House supports and lives by the five core values of the school.

A belief in and commitment to these core values and the following of an agreed code of behaviour by the Rangi Ruru community, fosters a sense of personal worth and integrity both for the individual and across our whole community.

The R.A.N.G.I Five Core Values:
Respect – for ones self, for others and our environment
Aroha – a sense of inclusiveness, trust and belonging
eNdeavour and enthusiasm – commitment, discipline and passion
Generosity of Spirit – service to others, compassion, tolerance, unselfishness
Integrity and Honesty

We demonstrate these values through the way we regard ourselves, our actions and in the way we relate to others:

  • All people at Rangi Ruru are included as a valued part of the school community
  • People are accepted in their diversity of beliefs and opinions. We celebrate everyone’s individual gifts and talents
  • Care and consideration are taken in speaking and communicating with others
  • Partnerships in learning are nurtured and people are supported and affirmed in their endeavours
  • All members of the Rangi Ruru community are encouraged to look beyond themselves and into the wider community, to recognise and take responsibility for the care of other people and our environment
boardersinsit2008These principles and values are particularly important to our Boarding community where such a diversity of students live together.

We look after our boarders with every care and we expect them to comply with our rules which are made for the welfare of all.

In addition to the Core Values, the Boarding House expects the girls to respect the rules of the school when onsite or identifiable as students of the school.
