International

Rangi Ruru Girls’ School welcomes International Students from a number of different countries. We appreciate the opportunity to have students from different countries as members of our school family and to learn more about their cultures and beliefs.

We are pleased to be able to offer International Students the opportunity to study in a caring, academic environment.

Rangi Ruru Girls’ School has been offering excellent education to intermediate and secondary school girls for over 100 years - an old school by New Zealand standards. We have an outstanding academic record and are considered one of the top schools in New Zealand. We offer our students quality facilities, excellent teaching staff and small class sizes.

Education at Rangi is broad-based and information on the curriculum can be found in our Curriculum Handbook.

In addition to the curriculum, students have many opportunities to pursue many other interests including over 30 different sports; a wide range of musical interests (voice and instrumental); speech, drama and dance. We also have an active International Club, with membership open to all students in the school.

international32009Although our student body represents many different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, we accept only limited numbers of International Students at any time. In this way we believe that we are able to offer our International Students the additional support they may require, including the ‘New Zealand experience’ that many students say is a reason they have chosen to study abroad.

Rangi Ruru Girls’ School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from the school or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website. The Ministry of Education website includes translations of the Code of Practice in Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Traditional) and Chinese (simplified). We recommend that International Students considering education in New Zealand visit the Ministry of Education site to gain a complete picture of the duty of care and requirements for schools, parents, guardians and students.

For more information on Rangi Ruru and any updates to this information please refer to our International Students' brochures in English, Thai, Korean, Chinese and Japanese and also our Information for International Students and their Families handbook or contact me directly with any further enquiries you may have.
