Scholarships for current Rangi Ruru students
Scholarships available to current students through Rangi Ruru include the McRae Peacock and Janice Perry Scholarships, the Jessie Cook Music Scholarship and the St Andrew's at Rangi Ruru Organ Scholarship. Notice regarding how and when to apply for these scholarships is communicated through the school newsletter, In Touch.
Jessie Cook Music Scholarship
The Jessie Cook Music Scholarship is awarded annually as a result of a legacy to the school from Jessie Cook, who was a student at Rangi Ruru in 1908. The scholarship will be given to a student in either Year 12 or 13 who shows musical promise and contributes significantly to co-curricular music activities at Rangi Ruru. Preference will be given to students taking Music as a full subject.
Except in exceptional circumstances, the Jessie Cook Music Scholarship will be awarded to a girl not holding a Rangi Ruru Music Scholarship. The value of the scholarship is $2,000; either awarded as one $2,000 or two $1,000 scholarships.

The St Andrew’s at Rangi Ruru Organ Scholarship
Applications are welcomed from current Rangi students for The St Andrew’s at Rangi Ruru Organ Scholarship.
This is a new scholarship, offered for the first time for 2011. It will be awarded annually as a result of the generous support of the St Andrew’s at Rangi Ruru Parish.
The Scholarship provides for weekly organ lessons by Russell Kent, as part of the ITM programme. The value of the scholarship is $1,000 per annum, and will be available for two years. Initially it will be available on a one year tenure commencing in 2011. The 2011 recipient is eligible to apply for it again in 2012 if she has satisfied the conditions and terms of the scholarship.
The successful applicant will be a girl who -
a) is a current Rangi Ruru student from Year 9 and above, with preference given to a girls wishing to start playing the organ.
b) is a competent pianist to at least Grade 5 level and who shows musical promise.
c) has the intention to keep on with her piano lessons in addition to the organ lessons.

McRae Peacock and Janice Perry Scholarships
• McRae Peacock Scholarship (up to $4,000), and the
• Janice Perry Scholarship (up to $1,000).
These scholarships, which are funded by legacies, are awarded in general to students entering Year 12, but may go to someone in Year 13, who has achieved a high standard of academic work and who has contributed in various ways to school life and would benefit from this financial assistance.
