Rangi Ruru girls are engaged in an exciting range of productions and shows throughout the year.

Some of the regular annual productions and performances include: Stage Challenge, Senior Production, Junior and Intermediate Production, the Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival, Dance Production, and a Year 11, 12 and 13 Drama class performance. Other Theatre Arts groups are created in response to demand from the student community.

Rangi Ruru is well known for the quality of its school productions. Each year the school produces a Senior Production (Drama, Musical or Dance), Junior and an Intermediate production. Large productions are often produced in collaboration with male students from other schools.

Public performances at assemblies and services, school productions, representative events, national and regional competitions, offer opportunities for the school community to come together and celebrate the girls' talents. Other formal and informal evenings are held throughout the year for parents and friends.

Rangi Ruru has three dance companies which have the opportunity to perform at various events around Christchurch as well as our own prizegving, musical productions and dance productions.

Intermediate Dance Company
Opportunity is given to the Intermediate School students to be involved in a performance dance group. This is not formally auditioned and allows girls less experienced in dance the chance to experience workshops, rehearsals and performance.

Dance Company  (Years 9 to 13)
This company is auditioned. Members are given the skills to help develop themselves further as dancers. All have some past experience in learning a specific style of dance.

Elite Dance Company (Years 9 to 13)
The crème of the school dance community is involved in this company. They are the backbone of all major performances and will have many opportunites to demonstrate their skill in performances. All have major experience and most take several lessons per week in a specific style of dance.
