It is exciting for us to be widening our educational offerings within our mission of inspiring, challenging, and empowering. It is part of our goal to offer learning opportunities not only for our students but also for our community. We offer this programme as part of the ‘Gibson Connection’ which is our umbrella structure for wider learning.

Whether you are a confident writer or a shy beginner, Gifting Your Stories will help you to access, shape, and write whatever memories and experiences you choose to record. Formerly run for Community Education at the University of Canterbury, it is now proudly offered for the first time at Rangi Ruru.People say “I wish she’d written it down” or “If only he’d recorded his life”. Now the time has come. Writing and sharing memories is a gift for the mind, a gift for the soul, a gift for the heart and a gift for others. It is now open to you. Treat yourself.Grant Hindin Miller is a published author, composer, scriptwriter, and highly-regarded creative-writing tutor who, for two decades, has taught successful classes in Christchurch. He will lead you through a well-designed set of exercises with reliable guidelines to help improve and enhance whatever you wish to write.
